Lionel Messi’s two goals secured Inter Miami’s place in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. On Wednesday night (April 9), they defeated Los Angeles Football Club 3-1 in the second leg of the quarterfinals.

Inter Miami came into the match trailing 1-0 from the first leg. Things got worse when Aaron Long scored in the 9th minute, putting LAFC ahead and extending their aggregate lead to 2-0. However, Messi brought Miami back into the game with a brilliant goal in the 35th minute.

In the 61st minute, Federico Redondo scored to give Inter Miami the lead in the match and level the aggregate score. Then, in the 84th minute, Messi scored again from the penalty spot, sealing the victory and ensuring Inter Miami’s place in the semifinals.
