Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that Bangladesh has a prisoner exchange agreement with India, and efforts will be made to bring back Sheikh Hasina through that agreement. He made this statement while speaking to journalists on Thursday (April 10) afternoon after inspecting the Shantiganj police station in Sunamganj.

The Home Affairs Adviser said that some incidents of mob violence have occurred, but actions have been taken to address them. Measures have been implemented in the areas where such incidents took place, and if similar events occur in the future, they will be dealt with under the law.

He also mentioned that law and order in the country is currently stable and said, “Ordinary people are asking us to stay for another five years.”

Earlier on Thursday morning, the Home Affairs Adviser visited the Sylhet Airport Police Station. Upon seeing a red carpet laid out for the guard of honor, he expressed his displeasure at the police officers.
