Army chief greets troops, officers on Eid

![]() Army chief greets troops, officers on Eid He reflected on the occasion with deep allegiance to the Almighty as well as the spirit of sacrifice. General Waker wished that the military lives of all service members be “illuminated” with the sense of happiness and the spirit of sacrifice enshrined in the holy festival. He also prayed to the Almighty that may all the army personnel become encouraged at the spirit of sacrifice, and harness the values of fraternity and coexistence. On the occasion of Eid, the army chief remembered those martyred army troops whose sacrifices ensured the liberation of the country in the 1971 war. He also recalled the martyrdom of other personnel in UN peacekeeping missions abroad, and anti-terrorism operations in the Chattogram hill tracts. He prayed for the eternal peace of the martyrs and extended condolences for the grieving families. The general greeted the army personnel engaged in duties far away from their homes in the country in efforts to “aid the civil administration” in the hill tracts and other parts of the country. He also greeted those serving abroad.
