![]() Tahsif Souri Death Case: Dhaka Court Grants 4-Day Remand for Friend Disha A Dhaka court placed Jarika Tasnim Disha, 19, on a four-day remand today in connection with the murder of former Bangladesh Air Force officer KM Tahsif Souri. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ripon Hossain issued the order after police presented Disha in court seeking a seven-day remand, according to Additional Public Prosecutor Muhammad Shamsud Doha Sumon. Police arrested Disha from her residence in Kafrul, Dhaka, around 2:00 AM today. According to the police forwarding report, CCTV footage from Uttara showed Tahsif visiting Nest Bar and Restaurant alongside Disha on the night of October 27. The two were also seen visiting a local eatery and a motorcycle garage that same evening. Analysis of Tahsif's call records further confirmed multiple telephone conversations between them. Investigators stated that cross-interrogation between Disha and another suspect, 23-year-old Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dip, is necessary. Dip, a junior friend of Tahsif who was placed on a four-day remand yesterday, allegedly called Tahsif around 6:00 AM on October 27 and took him out. Preliminary investigations indicate evidence of Dip's direct involvement in the crime. Tahsif's unidentified body was recovered on October 28 around 4:30 PM, floating in the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat in Uttarkhan, after police were alerted via the National Emergency Service 999. Officers identified the former Air Force officer through an iPhone found in his trouser pocket while preparing the inquest report. Following the recovery, Tahsif's father, KM Eneyetul Karim, filed a murder case against unidentified individuals at Uttarkhan Police Station, alleging his son was murdered and dumped in the river to conceal the crime. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) subsequently picked up Dip from his Mohammadpur residence on Thursday night for questioning.
