The country's largest temporary hospital is being built in the capital's International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) to treat patients infected with coronavirus. Its work is at the very end. 750 beds have already been prepared. The entire hospital premises of the ICCB will be handed over to the Department of Health in the next two to three days.

ICCB Chief Executive MM Jasim Uddin said this at a regular briefing at the hospital premises on Friday.

Regarding the overall progress of the hospital work, he said, "We have a target of making 2084 beds." However, if necessary, it is possible to increase it to five thousand. 750 beds have already been prepared. Of these, 500 are in the shed area and the remaining 200 are in the convention halls. The rest will be ready in the next two to three days.

Regarding the transfer of the hospital, Jasim Uddin said, "It is a matter of two to three days to complete the rest of our work." Once these are done, we will hand it over to the Department of Health. The Department of Health, the Department of Health Engineering and the ICCB authorities will then sit together in a meeting. There will be discussions on what to do next.

Department of Health Engineering Executive Engineer (Dhaka City Division) said. Masudul Alam expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work.

he said "about a thousand beds are ready. Most of them have been installed (750). The remaining one thousand beds are here. If the carpets are laid, they will also be placed here. Work has been delayed for two days due to rain and storm. However, we hope to be able to hand it over to the Department of Health by the end of this month if there are no new disturbances. They will then think about when it can be launched based on their logistical support. They must have a plan."
