France to adopt new strategy to cut the lockdown

French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe is set to present a national strategy to end the lockdown imposed to prevent coronavirus on Tuesday; his office sources said.

Debate and vote will be held on his strategy paper after presentation in the National Assembly.

According to the AFP news agency, 17 priorities have been identified to gradually return the country to normalcy from May 11. These include reopening schools, starting company work, launching public transport, providing masks and sanitizers, and assisting the elderly citizens.

On Monday, a significant number of ministers will discuss various issues with local authorities.

It is to be noted that lockdown has been going on in France since March 17 to combat coronavirus. The lethal virus has killed 22,614 people in the country since early March.
