Total 12,000 Bangladeshis contract Covid-19 in Qatar

A total of 12,000 Bangladeshi expatriates have been infected with the coronavirus in Qatar. 109 people, including 18 Bangladeshis, have died so far.

The Bangladesh embassy in Qatar confirmed the information on Thursday.

In a country of 2.8 million people, the virus has infected about 93,000 people. Besides, more than 76,000 people so far have recovered.

Qatar Bangladesh Embassy Labour Counselor Dr. Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman said that many of the 12,000 Bangladeshis affected by the coronavirus in the country have recovered.

So far, more than 341,000 people in Qatar have been tested for coronavirus. About 416,000 Bangladeshis are working in different professions in the country.
