President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Sunday morning phoned Nurul Haque Nur, president of Gano Odhikar Parishad, to enquire about his health condition following the recent attack on him.
The call was made at 10:07am, according to an official statement. During the conversation, the President assured Nur that the government is taking steps to arrange advanced medical treatment for him abroad.
Extending his wishes for Nur’s speedy recovery, President Shahabuddin strongly condemned the assault and expressed deep regret over the incident. He further pledged that exemplary punishment would be ensured for those involved in the heinous attack.
