General Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) Nasir Uddin Nasir has alleged that a section of Dhaka University teachers are echoing the rhetoric of Islami Chhatra Shibir by making what he described as “false accusations” of code of conduct violations against his organisation during the DUCSU election.
Speaking to reporters in front of the Udayan School polling centre on Tuesday, Nasir said, “Baseless allegations of breaching electoral rules are being brought against Chhatra Dal in the DUCSU election. Some Dhaka University teachers are speaking in the language of Shibir. From their conduct, it appears they are working in favour of Shibir-backed candidates.”
He further claimed, “In compliance with the code of conduct, we have set up Chhatra Dal booths 100 metres away from the polling centre. Yet, Shibir activists are campaigning right next to the centres, while the university administration remains silent.”
Nasir called on the Dhaka University authorities to ensure a fair and transparent election.
