Eid train tickets go fully online: How to book easily

Bangladesh Railway is set to begin advance ticket sales ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, aiming to ensure a smooth journey for homebound passengers.

As in previous years, 100 percent of tickets will be sold online, allowing travelers to book seats conveniently from home using a computer or mobile device.

Passengers can register and purchase tickets through the official Bangladesh Railway website or by downloading the Rail Sheba app from the mobile app store.

How To Book Tickets

First, visit the Bangladesh Railway website or open the Rail Sheba App. Click on the registration tab to access the sign-up page. Fill in the required personal information and submit the form. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile number—enter it correctly and click “verify” to complete registration. Once successful, the system will automatically log you in.

If not logged in automatically, enter your email and password to access your account. Then select your desired travel date, departure station, destination, and class, then click on the “Find Ticket” option.

On the next page, you will see train names, seat availability, and departure times. Click “View Seats” for your chosen train, select available seats, and proceed by clicking “Continue Purchase.”

Tickets can be paid for using Visa, MasterCard, or mobile financial services like bKash. After successful payment, an e-ticket will be automatically downloaded and also sent to your email.

Passengers are advised to print the ticket and carry a valid photo ID. A printed copy can also be collected from the respective source station before departure if needed.
