As an outlook for the next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted that rain or thunder showers may decrease.

The Met Office also forecasted that many places of the country are likely to experience rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes in the next 24 hours as of 9:00 am tomorrow.

"Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind with lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said a met office bulletin issued this morning.

Meanwhile, day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin added.

The maximum temperature was recorded yesterday 33.5 degrees Celsius at Satkhira in Khulna division and today’s minimum temperature was 19.8 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6:00 am today was recorded 26 millimeters (mm) at Netrokona in Mymensingh division.

The sun sets at 6:27 pm today and rises at 5:25 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
