Ancelotti to Leave Real Madrid with Honor and Full Salary

Carlo Ancelotti will lose his job at Real Madrid at the end of the season. Real’s league campaign will conclude on May 25. After that, the Italian coach, known as "Don Carlo," will leave the club by mutual agreement. His next destination is expected to be the Brazil national team's dugout, according to reports from Relevo.

In European football, the season officially runs from June to the following June. Real Madrid pays Ancelotti an annual salary of 11 million euros. Although he will leave at the end of May, he will still receive his full salary for the season. Moreover, while Real could claim compensation for early contract termination, the club has reportedly decided not to pursue it. Florentino Pérez considers Ancelotti a goodwill ambassador for Real Madrid and wants to give him a dignified farewell.

Relevo also reports that discussions between Ancelotti and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) are quite advanced. It is likely that Don Carlo will be seen in the Brazil dugout during their World Cup qualifying matches on June 4 and 9. However, nothing has been finalized yet.

The CBF had previously announced that it aims to appoint the national team's next coach before June. They have been waiting because of Ancelotti’s uncertain future at Real Madrid, but they will not delay until the Club World Cup, scheduled for June–July.

For the upcoming two World Cup qualifiers, Brazil must announce their squad by May 18. Multiple media sources report that the CBF prefers to make the announcement independently, although Ancelotti is expected to be involved in squad discussions. Meanwhile, Sky Sports claims that Don Carlo may leave Madrid immediately after the next El Clásico.
