The statement “I’ve got a license to kill 226 people” has been forensically confirmed to belong to the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal. Chief Prosecutor Tazul Islam confirmed this on Wednesday.

The Chief Prosecutor said that in an audio clip circulated online, a person is heard saying, “There are 226 cases against me, so I’ve got a license to kill 226 people.” The investigation agency conducted a forensic analysis of the audio and confirmed that the voice belongs to Sheikh Hasina.

Meanwhile, the Tribunal issued several orders today. Arrest warrants have been issued against eight individuals in connection with killings that took place in Narayanganj during the July-August movement. Additionally, the Tribunal ordered two police officers to appear in court regarding the shooting and burning of a man in Ashulia.

Former minister Dipu Moni has also applied for parole, citing her husband’s illness. After the hearing, the Tribunal directed her to submit the application to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
