As tensions rise along the India-Pakistan border following the Pahalgam massacre, several Bollywood actors have expressed their condolences. Meanwhile, members of India’s ruling BJP and other political leaders have been issuing Islamophobic statements.

In this climate, Bollywood’s "chocolate boy" Emraan Hashmi has spoken out about the attack. Facing the media, he said, “Our religion does not teach terrorism.”

Emraan Hashmi's latest film Ground Zero, which also revolves around Kashmir, was recently released. He was speaking to the media as part of the film’s promotion.

Speaking about the Pahalgam incident, he said, “I hope the government ensures justice is served.”

Explaining his concerns, the actor said, “Kashmir is a major tourist destination. The attack was clearly premeditated. The attackers deliberately targeted an area that attracts tourists. There were hardly any access routes nearby.”

He also spoke about tourist safety. The Aashiq Banaya Aapne star said, “Many have questioned the deployment of forces in the area on the day of the attack. But it's not possible to provide complete security across such a vast tourist region.”

Emraan emphasized that such attacks should never be used to spread religious hatred, saying, “Terrorism has nothing to do with religion. The ideology behind terrorism is fundamentally twisted.”

He concluded by saying, “Our religion has never taught us such things.” Finally, he called on the nation to stand united in the face of such tragedies.
