PM Approves Tk 3 Crore Grant for Christmas 2026 Celebrations

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has approved a Tk 3 crore grant for the Christian community ahead of Christmas 2026, exceeding the Tk 2 crore requested by the Christian Religious Welfare Trust by Tk 1 crore.

The Prime Minister gave his approval after receiving a summary from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Disbursed from the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the grant will support nationwide celebrations for Christmas the Christian community's largest religious festival on 25 December.

In its summary, the Ministry of Religious Affairs highlighted that the Christian Religious Welfare Trust had planned extensive religious and social welfare activities across the country to mark the occasion, proposing a special grant to support the initiatives.
